Based on the traditional Austrian Linzer Torte, Linzer cookies are popular around Christmas time and famous for their elegant appearance and outstanding flavor.  They are made with a dough of ground, toasted almonds and hazelnuts, aromatic spices, and a touch of lemon zest resulting in a cookie composed of two soft, buttery halves sandwiched together with a spread of lightly-sweet-but-tart, seedless, organic raspberry jam in between.  A combination of flavors that will take you to the moon and back!
